Depression

Depression, often referred to as a major depressive disorder or clinical depression, is a serious mood disorder.  Depression can severely affect how you think and feel and can also impact daily activities such as with sleep, appetite, or work. Symptoms need to be present for at least two weeks to be diagnosed with Depression.

If you are experiencing problems with sleep, appetite, or difficulty concentrating, feelings of hopeless, emptiness, guilt, or despair, and aren’t enjoying activities that you used to, or are experiencing suicidal thoughts, then you are most likely experiencing Depression. Some other symptoms may include decreased energy or fatigue, difficulty concentrating, feeling restless, aches and pains, or thoughts of death or suicide.

You are not alone. Our mental health experts at Midwest Behavioral Clinic work with children, teens, and adults experiencing depression to find individualized interventions that can help them improve their daily life functioning.
