Hello, I’m Sam, a Limited License Professional Counselor (LLPC) who works with children and adults, with a specialty for individuals between the ages of 5-25. I have experience in supporting people with a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma and sports performance.
I received my masters in Clinical mental health at Siena Heights University while competing for 6 years as a college athlete. I have experience working in schools (daycare & K-5th), outpatient facilities and juvenile detention centers.
I like to create an environment that is safe, welcoming and supportive. My personal style of therapy includes Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral therapy (DBT) to help manage intense emotions and teaching skills to handle these intense emotions. I incorporate motivational interviewing, acceptance and strength based therapy into my practice. For children I also incorporate play and art therapy to provide an engaging yet meaningful environment.
